Smooth Salsa is back with our next instalment on Saturday 6th July at The Guild, Aston University, Birmingham, B4 7ES. For July we’re back to normal with classes in Salsa, Tango Fusion, Bachata & Kizomba!
In June we had guest teachers Jonny & Julia teaching an open level Zouk Class which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We also had guest DJ Steve from Salsa Central who tore the Salsa room to pieces with his magnificent set along with DJ Sim Pow and our resident Smooth Salsa DJs. This month our guest DJ in the Salsa room is DJ Jamil Bacha from London again. Jamil always brings the house down each time he plays and that is why we continue to invite him back.
We’re also pleased to announce that we now have DJ Kubanito playing the best in Cuban Salsa & Bachata downstairs in the 3rd room. Dj Kubanito has played at the UK Cuban Congress (Bournemouth) and is also a regular DJ at events such as the Cuban Salsa Congress in North Wales and the Cuban Salsa Weekenders at Pontins Holiday Parks across the UK.
Class Format
8:30 pm – 9:30pm
• Three levels of Salsa (beginners, improvers and intermediate) taught by members of the Smooth Salsa Team
• Open level Tango Fusion class with Michelle Brown
9:30pm – 10:30pm
• Open Bachata lesson (all levels) by Amanda Hawley from Nottingham
•Kizomba
The Blue Room will be available for social dancing from 9:45pm
THREE ROOMS
• The Guild: Sizzling Salsa
• The Blue Room: Kizomba Heaven
• B4 Bar: Bachata with a little Cuban Salsa
Our DJs include, DJ AM, DJ Dave, DJ David Flor, DJ Jim, DJ Potty & Guest DJ Jamil Bacha of TNT London & Ybp Banderas aka DJ Kubanito playing Cuban Salsa Bachata!
Please note , we will have two bars open so that you have less waiting in a queue and more time for dancing. The second bar is located downstairs in the third room.
Social dancing from 10:30 to 4am if you can handle it!! Room 3 downstairs will close at 2am.
Admission
£10, student £8 (with valid student card)
Please note, student cards without an expiry date won’t be accepted.
Car Parking
There is car parking available on site in the Staff car parks so ignore the signs advising of specific closing times, the University allow the Smooth Salsa guests to use the car parks fo rthe duration of the event. The car parks are pay & display however and cost £1 for duration of the party.
The car park will not close until everyone has left the Students Guild Hall.
